WORKSHOP AUGUST 2023 – Curitiba

The “Children’s Health Through Sports – Summer Workshop†was held from August 14 to 25, 2023, at UFPR’s Physical Education Department. The 11-day workshop featured lectures, presentations, and practical activities, open to the community to participate in person or remotely. The official language of the event is English, given the partnership with HVL, a higher education institution in Norway and home of the project “EMPOWERING GIRLS THROUGH FOOTBALL: A REAL-LIFE INTEGRATED LEARNING ENVIRONMENT FOR CHILDREN’S HEALTH AND SOCIAL INCLUSIONâ€. The event counts with the participation of students and professors from both universities, as well as guests from outside, with the aim of sharing knowledge and initiating discussions on health, football, female empowerment through sport, inclusion, and performance.

WORKSHOP MARCH 2024 – Noruega

Are you interested in football? To all those interested, we welcome you to our10-day workshop. Registration is not required. Two sessions are planned per day during these two weeks – where all afternoon and morning sessions are open for remote participation in addition to physical attendance at the Sogndal campus. Most sessions are conducted in English.
The workshop will focus on the project results to date, the development of women’s football at national and international level, the field of practice and the research plan for training, management and development of women’s football, mechanisms for health and performance in football, facilitation, empowerment and inclusion.
Among the participants we’ll have international students and professors, from both HVL and UFPR universities, as well as staff members from Sogndal and Bergen, HVL bachelor and master students, professionals from partner education institutions and football clubs.
The “EMPOWERING GIRLS THROUGH FOOTBALL” is a collaborative project between HVL and the Universidade Federal do Paraná (UFPR) in Curitiba, Brazil, which is based on the conditions of women’s football and women’s football as a platform for empowerment, inclusion, health and performance. The partners in the project are the Arctic University of UiT Norway, Sogndal Football, Sogndal FK Ladies and the football circle Sogn og Fjordane.

WORKSHOP NOVEMBER DE 2024 – Curitiba

The Workshop “Life skills and girl’s empowerment in football†will be held from November 5 to 14, 2024, at UFPR’s Physical Education Department. There will be 9 days of lectures, presentations and practical activities, open to the community to participate, both in person and remotely. It is important to note that most of the sessions will be conducted in English and registration will be carried out at the time of each lecture.
During the event, the results to date of the project “EMPOWERING GIRLS THROUGH FOOTBALL: A REAL-LIFE INTEGRATED LEARNING ENVIRONMENT FOR CHILDREN’S HEALTH AND SOCIAL INCLUSIONâ€, carried out jointly by UFPR and HVL, will be presented, the development of women’s football at national and international level, the practice field and the research plan for the training, management and development of women’s football, mechanisms for health and performance in football, facilitation, empowerment and inclusion.
Speakers will include students and professors from Western Norway of Applied Sciences-HVL, Universidade Federal do Paraná-UFPR, other universities in Brazil, the United States of America and Europe, as well as professionals from football clubs, to contribute academically to discussions to develop girls’ empowerment, inclusion, health and performance.

WORKSHOP JUNE 2025 – CURITIBA

The International Workshop “Norwegian and Brazilian Perspectives of Empowering Girls through Football Project (2021–2025)†took place from June 2 to 6, in a hybrid format, with activities held both in person and online. The program offered a series of lectures, presentations, and practical activities, open to the academic community, practitioners, and the general public. Most sessions were conducted in English, and registration was carried out at the beginning of each lecture.

Throughout the event, participants shared ongoing results and experiences from the joint project developed between the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences (HVL) and the Universidade Federal do Paraná (UFPR). Discussions addressed the advancement of women’s football in Norway and Brazil, highlighting similarities and differences in development strategies, research initiatives in training, management, and performance, as well as the role of football as a tool for empowerment, inclusion, and health promotion.

The workshop featured contributions from students and professors of HVL and UFPR, in addition to researchers involved with the project. Together, they enriched the academic and practical dialogue, fostering exchange of knowledge and strengthening collaborative pathways for the empowerment of girls through football in both national and international contexts.
